Cittavino is more than just a wine bar, and it’s far from your average bottle shop. It is the vision of our head sommelier Marco Taddeo to make the best wines from across the world available in Australia by the glass.
For more than 20 years Marco worked as a sommelier in some of Sydney’s most renowned restaurants and bars including Otto, Icebergs, Bambini Wine Room and Bentley, Claude's, Millevini, Steel Bar & Grill, Pony Dining and Aria. While importing and curating some of the best lists in Sydney, Marco noticed most obscure wines never made it to the glass list which was holding back the ability for Australian’s to truly embark on a wine adventure.
'I wanted to be able to let locals buy and drink hard to find boutique Spanish, Italian and French wines at really good prices. The best and only way I could do this was to import them myself and compliment them with hard to find Australian wines.’ Says Marco.
Marco has put Cittavino on the map in a big way boasting a ‘local’ clientele from all over the world and it's his importer mentality that keeps people coming back to share in the worldly discoveries as the team of sommeliers delight in taking you on a new journe with every visit.
